About the Role
The Senior Database Administrator will work closely with the Engineering, Architecture, and Operations teams building and supporting our mission-critical database systems as Business Wire undertakes a digital transformation journey. As a member of the DBA team, you will be responsible for defining and supporting new and existing database systems across public cloud and traditional data centers. You will help guide best practices in database administration, data high availability, database management, database design, process improvement, requirements analysis, and the introduction of innovation with a focus on automation.

Experience with automated database deployment using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar tools
MySQL database administration experience
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with an understanding of ITIL
Experience managing Oracle EBS environments including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning
4+ years of AWS experience designing and supporting hyper-scale mission critical database architecture
2+ years proficiency in writing, profiling, and optimizing SQL queries for performance
2+ years experience creating and maintaining Entity Relationship Diagrams
Understanding of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, modeling, and profiling
Strong understanding of Java, AWS Lambda, and development frameworks

What We Offer
The base salary range for this position is $150K to $165K/year. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
